Times flies very quickly, Ernest is 1 week old today. Looking at the past 7 days, I am still trying to adjust myself to be a mum. I was supposed to be due next month. But my blood pressure was high hence my gyn made the decision of making me giving birth quickly. It was a rather drama setting then. 24 april was the day I was supposed to see my gyn. I went on my own for the appointment as Alvin was supposed to prepare for some big demo. Took the usual checks as in checking my blood pressure as well as checking my urine. The nurse found that I had took much protein in my urine, and that my blood pressure was high. I was a rather worry by the news then, plus I was having some bad giddy and the veins in my eye area broke causing my eye looking like a rabbit.. I was quickly put into the delivery ward after my gyn found out that my pressure is high and my dilution was 2cm. I was feeling rather lost then but steady enough to make a few calls. The first call I made to was to Alvin, "Gyn said that I got to be delivered now.." RESPOND from Alvin: "then how?" "then come now la. what u want me to do?" Guess he was feeling very lost as well. The second call I made was to Sara. "Sara, I need to be warded immediately my gyn said I am haveing dilution of 2cm.." HUH? really ah.. don't be scared hor.. we will be praying for you.. don't worry.." The third call I made was to my mum, " Ma, I am in hospital now.. gyn said that I need to delivery asap..." After a while, a nurse came along and push me on the wheelchair to the delivery ward. My giddy was feeling rather bad then but at least I know what happened.. Alvin joined me shortly in the delivery ward(rm 23) I can tell that he was feeling rather nervous then. They took my pressure, prick needles into my veins to get the stuff into my veins .. etc feeling terrible.. after bringing my pressure down, I was push to a four bedded ward. Alvin went back to work then as he need to wrap up some work before he could accompany me.. Since my gyn told us that they will only break the water bag the next day(25 May) Feeling bored and restless, I slept early that night since I need to delivery on the next day.
At 12am, a nurse came along and woke me up, you need to be push to the delivery ward to be delivery.. "huh? I though is the next day? 12 am.. is the next day already.. Gosh feeling rather scared, I quickly called up Alvin to come down. Once I am in the delivery ward (rm 11) I immediately request for the epidural before they can ever break my water bag. I was attended by a very nice nurse.. Thirul( hope I got her name correctly..) She made sure I was as comfortable as could be. Getting the epidural done, was quite a scary thing.. I have to curl up like a prawn while the an prick the long scary needle into my spin. ( Alvin saw the length of the needle, it was super long) The side effect that I got from it was a itchiness and chill all over my body.. Shortly, they broke my water bag. "2.5 cm,we have to induce you in order for you to dilute to 10cm." gosh from 2.5com to 10cm.. that is going to be a long wait.. From there, I was in a daze condition. Sleep woke up.. sleep woke up.. talk to alvin.. sleep woke up.. I could not get up to do my normal routine then since I am with tons of tubes and other stuff on me, hence I need to pass out my urine with the help of the nurse. They put in a tube in and press my urine out.. I can never forget the experience then.. The whole process drag on and on till next day about 3pm whereby they found that I was dilute for 9.5cm. I was in pain then.. and I need more pain killer, But Thirul were afraid that with the pain killer I will not be able to push enough.. Hence I had to withstand the pain till I gave birth. The pain lasted for two hours( that is according to Alvin) My gyn came and decided that they will use the forceps to help me delivery the baby as my pressure was on the high side. The pain was terrible, my gyn complained that I was not pushing enough but I did all I could to make the push. On the other hand, Alvin was supposed to take video clips of the process but he was so lost that he did not know how to operate the camera, I guess he had never seen so much blood in his life. Finally at 1500, Ernest Wan Koi Yan was born. and weighed 3.166kg!
